I am Ed Green, of Budo Weapons.

Many of you have placed orders and have been inquiring about them lately. At the behest of a few customers I have created this page in an effort to explain what has happened in the last several months.

On November 21st, 2008 I was involved in a three car accident. I have been unable to work in the shop as a result of this incident. I have a crushed disc in my neck between c4 and c5 along with three herniated discs in my lower back. You may ask yourself "What does this have to do with Budo Weapons and how does this affect my product production?"

What this has effectively done has created some form of  neuroscopy in me and has rendered me temporarily out of commission in my ability to produce product for orders new and outstanding. I say that this is temporary as I am working out in Physical therapy at the moment both at home and with a licensed PT. The insurance company that is responsible for paying my doctors bills will not pay anything until I am recovered. This and other personal issues has also caused a serious personal financial crisis as well. This also in mind, I am unable to issue or discuss refunds as I have done for some in the past due to lack of funds in the operational account.

The issues with my condition has created issues with my ability to stand for even short periods of time and also has caused issues with my arms going numb at various times inhibiting my ability to swing a hammer and operate other hand tools to create my metal and wood work that you all have come to love.

Many of you have outstanding orders and have been in that status for quite some time. I realize this and acknowledge it.

Some of you have expressed your anger and have even threatened legal action. While you are well within your rights to be upset this will not solve the problem. I have become very humbled in this situation and have learned that sometimes we are a victim of our own success. I have built a reputation of turning out some of the finest training gear available. Sadly, that reputation has become tarnished due to my inability to keep up with the demand at times. I have sent countless emails explaining the situations that I have been experienced over the last two years. Yet I managed somehow to forge on. Some of you are understanding of the circumstances some do not appear to be so understanding. I am willing to communicate with all of you. However, the terse emails and threats will not help the situation and threatening legal action and the like will not solve the problem either it will only exacerbate the situation on my end and make it all that much harder to accomplish a full recovery and get back to work to fulfill my obligations to you all.

With this in mind I am not taking new orders at this time at all. In fact, I have turned away countless customers recently because of my situation. Nor have I forgotten my responsibilities to the ones with outstanding orders. Currently I ask that the many of you that have exhibited unwavering patience continue to do so. If you would like to communicate with me I am happy to do so but only under friendly terms to give status updates on my recovery and when I will be able to get your orders out to you. ETA of my recovery enough to where I can work in the shop is unknown at this moment. However, at such time that my situation improves both health wise and financially at such time will I be able to issue refunds or send out product. My current product on the shelf has been depleted with the exception of partially completed orders that remain on my bench.

I assure all of you that I have never attempted to defraud anyone at any time and correspondence that alludes to that is not taken lightly and that fact is wholly untrue. As always, I am just one man that does what he loves for the love of what I do. I am also under very trying circumstances that any normal person would not be able to endure. had it not been for my martial arts training I too would have surely "cracked" by now. 

Finally, I know that you all will do what you feel you must. I simply ask that you correspond with me in a friendly manner and I will respond in kind. I have always considered my customers friends and this is not the way I wish to treat my friends. I am in a bad situation that I feel can only get better with the help of my friends.

After having read this statement please do not let this dissuade you from perusing the website. I am leaving the site up as I have been very proud to serve the martial arts community  and will continue to do so once I am recovered from this calamity that has struck my life.
